Ability to edit other file types in associated local apps from the web client

Clients would like the ability to edit file types besides Office in their associated local apps - files like Text Files, Open office documents, PDFs and the like.
Similar to have Office opens a secondary secure channel when you open in Local Office (not Office 365), users could open Notepad or Acrobat locally to edit text or PDF files.
