When user is in the office use local SMB file sharing for mapped drive client if available and permitted by system administrator.  This would allow users to keep their MyWorkDrive client running and the same drive letters mapped when out of the office while still getting full network speeds of direct SMB protocol file sharing.

We are close to having such large speed improvements such that SMB may not be needed or wanted.   I can see scenarios such that IT admins if given a choice would prefer to firewall off their file servers - even in the office - to prevent ransomware and only allow mapping over https accept for sensitive apps like AutoCad or PhotoShop that only work with SMB shares.    We'll be demo'ing the speed improvements of the mapped drive on our webinar on October 24th -  https://www.myworkdrive.com/news/myworkdrive-version-5-4-webinar-set-for-october-24th/
